Three LNG tankers headed for Asia exit Strait of Hormuz

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 11. Gulf of Oman – Three liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers have exited the Strait of Hormuz with their transponders off, bound for destinations in Asia, according to ship-tracking data from LSEG and Kpler seen by Reuters.

TurkicWorld reports that the QatarEnergy-controlled tankers Lebrethah and Rasheeda were last tracked west of the strait on June 1 and April 30, respectively, carrying cargoes loaded at Ras Laffan. Both vessels reappeared on ship-tracking data on June 10.

The Lebrethah, loaded on May 22, is travelling to Pakistan, while Rasheeda, which had been carrying a cargo since February 27, is nearing Southeast Asia. The third tanker, Marigold, managed by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, also reappeared on June 10 and is expected to head to India.

Since the outbreak of war at the end of February, a total of 12 LNG cargoes have exited the Strait of Hormuz.
