Iranian media says text of potential US-Iran memorandum is not final

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 29. Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency has quoted an informed source as saying that the text of a potential memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran has been modified in recent days and has not yet been finalized.

TurkicWorld reports.that ccording to the source, some media reports regarding the possible agreement contain inaccuracies and do not fully reflect the current state of negotiations.

The comments come after reports suggested that Washington and Tehran had reached a preliminary framework to extend the ceasefire between the two countries for an additional 60 days and begin talks aimed at achieving a permanent end to hostilities.

According to sources cited by Al Jazeera, the reported framework still requires final approval from US President Donald Trump before it can move forward.

Meanwhile, Axios previously reported that a potential agreement could include provisions ensuring unrestricted commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and the lifting of a US naval blockade on Iranian ports.

Neither Washington nor Tehran has officially confirmed the final details of any prospective agreement.
