Baku will host the First Congress of Composers of the Turkic World on September 18–20 as part of the 18th Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival, bringing together prominent music professionals from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Hungary. The central event will be the establishment of the Turkic Union of Composers, with participants expected to sign the Baku Declaration and discuss the new association’s Charter. The initiative is designed to strengthen professional cooperation, preserve the shared musical heritage of the Turkic world, support contemporary composers and promote Turkic music internationally.
