BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. The naval branch of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that Iranian forces coordinated the transit of 20 ships through the Strait of Hormuz during the past 24 hours.
TurkicWorld reports.that according to Iran's Fars news agency, the IRGC Navy said it supervised and coordinated vessel movements through the strategically important maritime corridor.
The statement did not provide additional details regarding the nationality, cargo or destination of the ships involved.
The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world's most critical energy and shipping routes, connecting the Persian Gulf to international markets. A significant portion of global oil and liquefied natural gas exports passes through the narrow waterway each day.
The announcement comes amid continued international monitoring of security conditions in the region and growing concerns over maritime stability in the Gulf.
Iranian authorities have repeatedly emphasized their role in maintaining navigation and security in the Strait of Hormuz, while regional developments continue to attract close attention from global shipping and energy markets.
