BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3. Iraq’s Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi has ordered oil companies in the country’s Kurdish region to restart operations, after some energy firms had suspended production due to repeated drone attacks on oilfields and energy infrastructure.
TurkicWorld reports that the shutdowns in the Kurdish region have intensified supply disruptions in the Middle East, following Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the subsequent blockade imposed by the United States.
Officials say that resuming oil production is essential to stabilize regional energy supplies and mitigate potential shortages.
