BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 23. Turkiye says 11 Turkish-owned vessels have safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz since the start of the conflict involving the US and Israel against Iran in February.
TurkicWorld reports that transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced on X that two additional ships successfully exited the Gulf on June 21, bringing the total number of Turkish-owned vessels that have passed through the strait to 11.
He said Ankara is closely monitoring developments in the Strait of Hormuz and the wider Gulf region “moment by moment” and remains in constant contact with ships and Turkish citizens in the area.
According to the minister, seven Turkish-linked vessels are still in the region, with 177 Turkish nationals on board. One of the vessels is sailing under the Turkish flag.
The statement reflects ongoing regional maritime security concerns, as shipping traffic continues to recover unevenly following earlier disruptions in the waterway.
