BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 3. Oman and Qatar have discussed ways to strengthen commercial, industrial and investment cooperation between the two countries, according to the Oman News Agency.
During the discussions, the two sides also explored new opportunities for partnerships in several sectors of mutual interest, reflecting efforts to deepen bilateral economic ties and expand cooperation.
The talks come as disruptions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz continue to affect regional trade and energy flows. Oman and Iran have been negotiating for weeks over arrangements for jointly governing the strategically important waterway.
Qatar has also played a significant diplomatic role in efforts to ease tensions between the United States and Iran. Doha has acted as a key behind-the-scenes mediator and was instrumental in securing a memorandum of understanding in June that temporarily halted hostilities. The agreement has since expired.
