BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 30. Iran does not require foreign assistance for mine clearance operations in the Strait of Hormuz, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said.
Speaking to reporters in Tehran, Baghaei stated that there is no need for outside involvement in issues concerning the strategic waterway, arguing that any foreign intervention would only complicate the situation.
"Any intervention will not be done with good intentions and will only lead to more complicated situations," he said.
Baghaei added that mine clearance in the Strait of Hormuz is already addressed under the memorandum of understanding (MoU), making additional involvement by other countries unnecessary.
He reiterated that regional issues should be resolved by the countries directly concerned without external interference.
