Israel Iran Tehran USA Donald Trump Diplomacy

One US-Iran agreement, three very different reactions

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. The recently signed US-Iran memorandum of understanding has elicited sharply divergent reactions from key global capitals, highlighting the complex geopolitics surrounding the deal.

TurkicWorld reports that US President Donald Trump described the agreement as a diplomatic breakthrough, emphasizing its potential to reduce tensions in the Middle East and stabilize energy markets.

In contrast, Israeli media and officials have portrayed the deal as a strategic disaster, criticizing Washington for undermining Israel’s security interests and enabling Iranian influence in the region.

Meanwhile, Iran has maintained a cautious stance, signaling that while the agreement opens a diplomatic channel, Tehran will continue to monitor implementation closely and protect its strategic interests.

Analysts Richard Gizbert and Meenakshi Ravi note that the contrasting perspectives reflect each country’s domestic and regional priorities, as well as the delicate balance of power between Washington, Jerusalem, and Tehran. They also warn that there is a fragile 60-day window for the memorandum to be converted into a more lasting framework for peace and security.
