BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3. Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has drawn global attention in recent weeks for actions reflecting a controversial and hardline approach. From publicly opposing a US ceasefire deal with Iran deemed unfavorable to Israel, to confronting handcuffed activists on the Global Sumud Flotilla, Ben-Gvir’s conduct has sparked international criticism.
TurkicWorld reports that following rebukes from the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Canada, and the United States, Prime Minister Netanyahu acknowledged the negative impact on Israel’s international image, stating that Ben-Gvir’s actions were “not in line with Israel’s values and norms.”
Despite attempts by Israeli media to separate the minister from the state, Ben-Gvir appears to embody an increasingly influential segment of Israeli society.
