BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has discussed key regional developments with his Saudi and Egyptian counterparts, including the situation in Syria, the Gaza peace plan and developments in the Strait of Hormuz.
Fidan held talks with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, according to a statement he posted on X.
The discussions focused on the latest developments in Syria, efforts surrounding the Gaza peace plan and the situation in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
The talks come amid heightened regional tensions and increased diplomatic efforts by Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Egypt to coordinate their positions on major Middle Eastern issues.
Fidan emphasized the importance of cooperation among the three countries, describing Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Egypt as “three brotherly countries” seeking peace and prosperity in the region.
He said Ankara, Riyadh and Cairo would continue strengthening cooperation and coordination across all fields.
The contacts highlight growing diplomatic coordination among the three regional powers as they seek to address security, political and humanitarian challenges across the Middle East.
