BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 9 Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned what it described as continued and unjustified Iranian attacks on Jordan, calling the bombardment a “blatant violation” of international law and the principles of good neighbourliness.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry said the attacks against Jordan were unacceptable and called for an immediate halt to Iranian military operations against Jordan and other countries in the region.
Riyadh also urged the international community and regional states to take serious steps aimed at restoring security and stability across the Middle East.
The statement came after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it had launched a barrage of ballistic missiles at a military base in Jordan where US forces were reportedly stationed.
The United States said no casualties were reported in the attack.
The IRGC said its retaliatory operations would continue until what it described as “US aggression” comes to an end.
Saudi Arabia’s statement adds to growing regional concern over the expansion of military hostilities and the potential impact on the security and stability of Gulf and Middle Eastern countries.
