BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. US President Donald Trump has said that the memorandum of understanding with Iran remains an interim arrangement and is not yet a final agreement, warning that the United States could revert to military action if the deal does not proceed as expected.
TurkicWorld reports that speaking to reporters in France during the G7 summit alongside Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Trump said the situation is still under evaluation and further details will be clarified in the coming days.
He stated that if the agreement does not develop in line with US expectations, Washington could “go back to shooting at them” and “dropping bombs,” underscoring the conditional nature of the current understanding.
At the same time, Trump said financial markets have reacted positively to the announcement, describing them as “very happy” with the progress of the Iran deal.
He also clarified that the United States does not plan to invest in Iran and has not requested Gulf allies to do so, though he added that any future investment decisions by regional partners would be their own choice.
Trump said he will provide further details on the agreement at a later press conference, as questions remain over implementation and long-term commitments.
