Israel says it struck 135 Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon within 24 hours

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 28. The Israeli army stated that it carried out attacks on 135 Hezbollah-linked targets over the past 24 hours during intensive bombardments in southern Lebanon. The strikes reportedly targeted launch sites, infrastructure facilities and what Israel described as militant positions connected to Hezbollah operations.

TurkicWorld reports that, according to the Israeli military statement, around 10 launch positions allegedly used by Hezbollah for attacks against Israel were struck in the Bekaa Valley and southern Lebanon. The army also claimed to have targeted a Hezbollah training camp during the operation.

Israeli forces further announced that 15 infrastructure locations in the city of Tyre were attacked. In addition, the military said it killed members of what it described as a “terrorist cell” as they were leaving a launch base allegedly used by Hezbollah fighters.

The latest strikes come amid continuing tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border, where both sides have exchanged near-daily fire since the beginning of the Gaza conflict. The situation has raised growing international concern over the possibility of a broader regional confrontation involving Lebanon and other Iran-aligned groups in the Middle East.

No immediate casualty figures were released by Lebanese authorities regarding the latest bombardments. Hezbollah has also not yet issued a detailed response to the Israeli claims.
