Iran says Israel must ‘learn a lesson’ as military operations pause

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 8. Iran’s armed forces have announced a halt to their military operations against Israel, while warning that any future attacks could trigger a much stronger response.

TurkicWorld reports that in a statement carried by Iranian state media, the military described its recent strikes as a response that the “Zionist regime and its supporters must learn a lesson from”.

“Accordingly, the operations of the armed forces are hereby declared halted,” the statement said.

However, Iranian authorities stressed that the suspension of operations should not be interpreted as a sign of restraint in the event of further hostilities.

“It is emphasized if the aggressions and acts of mischief continue – including in southern Lebanon – much more severe and crushing actions than before will follow,” the statement added.

The announcement comes amid growing international efforts to prevent a broader regional conflict following the latest exchange of attacks between Iran and Israel.
