Iran warns attacks on ‘Axis of Resistance’ members will trigger broader response

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 8. Iran has declared that any attack on members of the so-called “Axis of Resistance” could provoke a response extending beyond national borders, according to Mohammad Javad Amoli Larijani, head of Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council.

TurkicWorld reports that Larijani said Iran’s recent military action against Israel in support of Lebanon should be viewed not merely as a military operation but as an “official declaration of a strategic doctrine”.

According to him, the strikes were intended to send a clear message that any attack on groups aligned with the “Axis of Resistance”, which includes Hezbollah and other regional allies of Tehran, would be met with a response capable of altering the regional balance.

“At the same time, Iran made it evident that any escalation of the conflict or assault on the country’s critical infrastructure would face a comprehensive and deterrent response,” Larijani said.

He further warned that such a response could involve all parties supporting actions against Iran or its allies.

Larijani described the policy as the beginning of a new phase in Iran’s defence strategy, emphasizing proactive measures and offensive capabilities aimed at protecting what Tehran considers its regional influence and security interests.
