BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. The Lebanese army has released information regarding Israeli citizens entering Lebanese territory after crossing the border. The incident has become a new focus of attention amid ongoing security tensions in the region.
TurkicWorld reports that according to a statement published by the Lebanese army on the X platform, five Israeli citizens crossed the border and entered Lebanese territory by several meters.
According to the statement, Lebanese forces responded immediately, detained the individuals, and later transferred them to Israeli police authorities.
The Lebanese army strongly condemned the incident, describing it as unacceptable. The statement said:
"This crossing is a serious incident and is considered a criminal act."
It was also emphasized that radical right-wing Israeli groups have occasionally attempted to enter neighboring territories. Similar incidents have reportedly occurred in Gaza and the occupied West Bank in the past.
Analysts believe that such incidents could further increase security risks amid already heightened tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border.
