Lebanese army commander holds talks with UK and Pakistani officials

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 2. Lebanese Army Commander General Rudolph Haykal has held separate meetings with senior British and Pakistani officials to discuss military cooperation and regional developments.

According to Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA), Haykal met British Deputy National Security Adviser for International Affairs Barbara Woodward and a British delegation at the army headquarters in Yarzeh. British Ambassador Hamish Cowell also attended the meeting.

The discussions focused on the Lebanese army's role, progress in implementing the recently announced framework agreement, and continued international support for the armed forces as Lebanon faces ongoing political and security challenges.

General Haykal also met Pakistani Ambassador Salman Athar. The two sides reviewed the army commander's recent visit to Pakistan and discussed ways to implement and expand the outcomes of that visit, including strengthening bilateral military cooperation.
