BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 27. The Lebanese Army Command has called on citizens to act responsibly amid planned demonstrations in Beirut and other regions, following the signing of a US-mediated framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel.
TurkicWorld reports that in a statement, the army reiterated its respect for freedom of expression, while stressing the need to maintain stability during what it described as “exceptional challenges facing Lebanon.”
The military warned against any actions that could threaten security or civil peace, stating that it would not allow breaches of order or unrest with unpredictable consequences.
The statement comes after protests erupted in parts of Lebanon in response to the newly signed framework agreement with Israel, which has sparked political divisions and public debate within the country.
