BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 28. Lebanon's Ministry of Health says at least 4,333 people have been killed and 12,236 others wounded since March 2, amid continued Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon.
According to the ministry, the casualties have occurred as Israeli forces continue to maintain a presence in significant parts of southern Lebanon despite a US-backed ceasefire agreement signed in June.
The ministry added that at least 12,236 Lebanese have been injured during the same period.
Lebanese residents returning to villages designated as part of a "pilot zone," where Israeli forces were expected to withdraw under the ceasefire arrangements, have reportedly found many homes destroyed.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese Armed Forces said Israeli troops are obstructing the army's deployment in areas where it was expected to assume control under the terms of the agreement.
Israel has not immediately commented on the latest figures or the Lebanese army's allegations.
