BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. The Lebanese army has said that continued Israeli attacks are preventing it from completing its deployment in southern Lebanon and are obstructing the return of residents to their communities.
In a statement published on X, the army accused Israel of continuing “attacks and violations of existing agreements and international laws”.
The statement said the latest strikes included the bombing of a building in the Nabatieh area, as well as a public school, a medical clinic, a children’s daycare centre and several residential buildings.
According to the Lebanese army, the attacks demonstrate Israel’s “continued destructive approach aimed at causing the greatest possible damage to southern villages and towns and preventing the establishment of stability”.
The army added that its forces continue carrying out their missions in southern Lebanon but are facing “significant difficulties” because Israeli attacks are hindering the completion of its deployment and the return of residents.
