Investment volumes of Azerbaijan and Serbia disclosed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 25. The volume of Serbia's direct investments in Azerbaijan's non-oil and gas sector amounted to $3.6 million for the entire period of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Serbia (since 1995), Deputy Economy Minister Sahib Mammadov said, TurkicWorld reports.

He made the statement at the 8th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Serbia, held in Baku.

"Six Serbian companies are registered in Azerbaijan; four of them operate in the agriculture, infrastructure, and services sectors," he noted.

According to Mammadov, Azerbaijan has invested $2.8 million in the Serbian economy.

"In the first half of this year, the volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Serbia increased more than five times compared to the same period last year and reached $30.9 million," the deputy minister added.

Mammadov emphasized that there is great potential for the growth of economic cooperation. He invited Serbian companies to conduct business in Azerbaijan's free economic zones and industrial and agrarian parks.

He also mentioned that Serbia's interest in the restoration of the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation would be important for Azerbaijan.
