BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 2. Armenia's armament is a factor hindering the establishment of stability and peace in the region, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said during a joint press conference with Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić, TurkicWorld reports.
The Minister mentioned that the Serbian Foreign Minister was provided with detailed information about large-scale reconstruction and construction works carried out in the territories liberated from occupation, the return of people to their native lands.
"It was noted the fact that in the Constitution of Armenia, still claims to the territory of Azerbaijan remain. I stressed that this is the most serious element of threat to the process of peace and normalization. Armenia must take serious steps if it wants peace in the region.
Armenia's military budget has increased by almost 50 percent. This process is becoming an impediment to peace and stability in the region. The wrong policy of Armenia in this field and the inflammatory support provided by some countries to Armenia remain a threat in the region. Armenia should seriously reconsider the steps it is taking if it is sincerely interested in the peace process," he added.
