The construction of the gas pipeline between North Macedonia and Serbia will be completed in 2027, Serbian Energy Minister Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic said at a meeting with Deputy Prime Ministers of North Macedonia Ivan Stoilkovic and Aleksandar Nikoloski, TurkicWorld reports.
The Serbian minister noted that the length of the gas pipeline to Serbia is 47 kilometers, and the work, worth 42 million euros, is planned to be completed in 2027.
Nikoloski, in turn, said that the construction of the gas pipeline between North Macedonia and Greece will be completed next year. Thus, gas from Greece can go to Serbia through North Macedonia.
The parties acknowledged that the construction of the gas connection between Serbia and North Macedonia will ensure the diversification of routes and sources of supply, increasing the security of supply for both Serbia, North Macedonia and the entire Balkan region.
Serbia began receiving gas from Azerbaijan in 2024, and North Macedonia plans to establish regular purchases of Azerbaijani gas.
