BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 2. Azerbaijan is deeply saddened by a devastating tragedy that occurred in Novi Sad, Serbia, resulting in tragic loss of lives and a large number of injuries, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) shared in a post on its X page, TurkicWorld reports.
"We express heartfelt condolences to the families who lost loved ones, to the friendly people and Government of Serbia, and wish a swift recovery to those injured," the publication reads.
To note, at least 11 individuals, with 4 others, were injured after part of an outdoor roof collapsed at a train station in the Serbian city of Novi Sad.
A ceiling measuring 50 meters made of glass, concrete, and metal came crashing down at the railway station in Serbia’s second-most populous city.
In the wake of the tragedy, President Aleksandar Vučić visited Novi Sad, and the government declared November 2 as a day of mourning.
