Regular meetings between Azerbaijan, Serbia prove strategic partnership relations - FM

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 2. The regular meetings between the two countries are an indicator of the strategic partnership relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said during a joint press conference with Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić, TurkicWorld reports.

Jeyhun Bayramov noted that in the context of the discussions, besides bilateral relations, cooperation in international organizations was discussed.

"Mutual support and respect and non-interference in each other's internal affairs are always one of the most important points in Azerbaijan-Serbian relations. Today, given the importance of Azerbaijan's hosting of COP29, we discussed opportunities for cooperation in this direction. The visit of COP29 President Mukhtar Babayev to Serbia is envisaged.

The useful cooperation between our countries will continue in the parliamentary sphere as well. The economic sphere is of special importance between the two countries. In the first half of 2024, there is a significant increase in trade turnover between the two countries. Starting this year, Azerbaijani gas will be supplied to the Serbian market. The volume of gas is planned to reach one bcm.

Also, several new potential areas in general were discussed," Bayramov added.
