Turkmenistan, Dragon Oil discuss current state and prospects for cooperation

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 24. Turkmenistan and Dragon Oil, owned by the Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), discussed the current state and prospects for further cooperation, TurkicWorld reports.

According to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Dubai, these issues were discussed at Dubai International Airport during a meeting between Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Executive Director of Exploration and New Ventures of Dragon Oil Abdulkarim Ahmed AlMaazmi.

During the meeting, the parties stressed the intensive cooperation that is the result of the joint efforts of the leadership of the two countries and confirmed their readiness to further develop an effective partnership between Turkmenistan and Dragon Oil.

The participants in the talks expressed confidence that the common interest will become the basis for continuing successful cooperation in the oil and gas industry.

Meanwhile, in January of this year, the Turkmenistan State Concern and Dragon Oil signed a Memorandum of Understanding under which the Dubai oil business will begin developing three prospective fields near Turkmenistan.

Dragon Oil has been carrying out oil and gas cooperation with Turkmenistan on the basis of a Production Sharing Agreement since 2000, and its main activity is the extraction of hydrocarbon resources in the Caspian Sea, in particular in the Cheleken contract zone.
