Turkmenistan deepens partnership with TURKSOY

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 4. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov has met with a delegation led by Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Sultan Raev in Turkmenistan, TurkicWorld reports via the foreign ministry.

The meeting focused on key matters of cooperation and identified promising areas for Turkmenistan's partnership with TURKSOY.

The Turkic-speaking world will remember 2024 as a watershed year for Turkmenistan. This year marks several important milestones for TURKSOY, including the designation of 2024 as the "Year of the Great Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World - Magtymguly Fragi" and the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of this great classic of Eastern literature. Additionally, the ancient Turkmen city of Anau has been named the cultural capital of the Turkic world for 2024.

The discussion placed special emphasis on organizing upcoming joint events aimed at promoting the works of Magtymguly Fragi and highlighting the cultural significance of Anau.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties emphasized the positive impact of Turkmenistan's partnership with TURKSOY, highlighting the importance of this organization in protecting, researching, and promoting the diverse cultural legacy of Turkic-speaking communities around the globe.
