Turkmenistan presents Arkadag's smart city vision at world expo in South Korea

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 4. Turkmenistan's delegation, led by Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of the City of Arkadag Deryageldi Orazov, has taken part in the official opening of the 2024 World Smart City Expo in Goyang, South Korea, presenting pavilion on Arkadag city, TurkicWorld reports via Turkmenistan's embassy in Korea.

On September 3, 2024, the expo featured the Turkmen pavilion dedicated to Arkadag, the country's first smart city. This city, developed on the initiative of Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, stands as a model for Turkmenistan's urban development, showcasing cutting-edge technologies.

The Turkmen delegation's participation at the expo emphasized Arkadag's achievements, aiming to integrate advanced technological developments into Turkmenistan's broader urban planning initiatives. The event provided a platform for exchanging experiences and learning from global smart city leaders to enhance the quality of life in Turkmen cities.

The World Smart City Expo is recognized as the world’s largest event in urban innovation, bringing together global leaders, industry experts, and government officials to exchange ideas and present the latest technological advancements. This year’s event, scheduled to take place from September 3 through 5, is expected to attract around 25,000 professionals and feature over 1,100 exhibitors, including participants from more than 60 countries.

The 2024 World Smart City Expo includes a total of 116 pavilions, representing various countries and regions such as China, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Denmark, Finland, and Israel. Participants at the expo, including ministers, deputy ministers, and provincial governors, underscores the international collaboration in urban innovation.
