Baku. TurkicWorld:
The most indispensable person in the life of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, was a teacher, a person with high moral values. He prioritized the reputation and personality of teachers at all levels of education, and considered their role in the development of young people studying in higher schools sacred. Even in the years when the Soviet era was in power, he said: "The title of a high school teacher places great responsibility on every person. The ability to teach is not only defined by a diploma or academic degree. Knowing the subject, having comprehensive information, idealism, ...worldview and other such qualities are necessary for every teacher. A high school teacher is also an educator. It is the teacher's duty to have high moral qualities and to set an example to the young people with whom he is constantly communicating. If a teacher does not have all these qualities, if he does not try to be a competent specialist in his field and a true educator of the young generation, then he is unfit for the profession of teaching in a higher school.
As often as possible, the great leader visited universities, met with students and teachers, recommended better preparation and education of young people. He knew that at a time when our lands are under occupation, the socio-economic situation is difficult, people's lifestyles are in crisis, and professors and university teachers are also living in this crisis, they are laying and strengthening the foundations for increasing the professional responsibility of students, acquiring knowledge, skills and competences.
Heydar Aliyev was well aware of the desire of youth to constantly feel the care of adults. At the same time, he reminded teachers and scientists to think about the future of the republic every day, every lesson, and that this future depends on the youth. He hoped that professors and teachers of higher schools fulfill their duties properly and do not spare their services in preparing the future of Azerbaijan - the young generation.
