President İlham Aliyev amends several decrees to strengthen territorial defence framework

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree introducing amendments to a number of existing regulations in line with the implementation of the country’s territorial defence framework.

TurkicWorld reports that according to the Press Service of the President of Azerbaijan, the changes are linked to the implementation of a presidential decree adopted on 17 June 2025 approving the “Regulation on Territorial Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.

Under the new amendments, responsibilities related to territorial defence have been formally added to the mandates of several state bodies, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Border Service, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription.

The updates aim to align institutional responsibilities with the territorial defence regulation, ensuring coordinated action among security and emergency agencies within the national defence system.
