BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20. Due to the crackdown on terrorism last September, the liberated territories of Azerbaijan turned out to have been a minefield of booby-traps, the chairperson of the Public Association "Azerbaijan Campaign Against Mines" Hafiz Safikhanov said, TurkicWorld reports.
He made a statement at a press conference on the results of the project "Strengthening International Support to Azerbaijan in Demining."
He made the observation that Khankendi is a prime location for booby traps.
"Booby traps are regularly encountered in the territories liberated from occupation. They were discovered and neutralized in the territory of Dashalti village of Shusha district, Zabukh and Sus villages of Lachin district, Khojaly district, Orta Garvand village of Aghdam district, Bulutan village of Khojavand district, and Gorgan rural cemetery of Fuzuli district. Most of all booby traps are located in the territory of the city of Khankendi," he added.
