JABRAYIL, Azerbaijan, August 16. A total of 327 (127 anti-personnel and 200 anti-tank) mines have been spotted in Azerbaijan's Jabrayil district, TurkicWorld reports.
The issue was brought up during the meeting of the working group on mine and unexploded ordnance clearance, which is involved in the Jabrayil district's mine clearing operations.
Members of the group were informed that the village of Jojug Marjanly in the district is still undergoing demining operations.
It was pointed out that over the six months of this year, the group cleared 229,205 square meters (sq.m.) out of 313,528.
Besides, it was highlighted that 20,415 sq. m. were cleared manually, 208,790 sq. m. were cleared using dogs, and 226,100 sq. m. were cleared mechanically.
To note, the working group operating under the Interdepartmental Center of the Coordination Headquarters has paid another visit to Azerbaijan's liberated territories.
Representatives of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) and relevant state structures represented in the working group are participating in the visit.
As part of the visit, the next meeting of the working group is scheduled in the Lachin district after reviewing the demining activities conducted in the Jabrayil district on the mined territories.
