BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) found and defused more mines and unexploded ordnances in the country's liberated territories on August 5–11, 2024, a source in ANAMA told TurkicWorld
According to the source, 163 anti-personnel and 44 anti-tank mines, as well as 10,040 unexploded ordnances, were found and defused in Tartar, Aghdam, Aghdara, Lachin, Fuzuli, Shusha, Khojaly, Khankendi, Kalbajar, Khojavend, Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan over the reporting period.
Meanwhile, 1,224 hectares of land have been cleared of mines.
Following the liberation of its lands, Azerbaijan began operations in November 2020 to clean its lands of mines, booby traps, and other weaponry left behind by illegal Armenian forces.
