Azerbaijan highlights territory on nation's liberated lands demined by female sappers

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 17. More than 1.1 million square meters have been cleared of mines by female sappers in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, the statement of the European Commission's Foreign Policy Instruments Service said, TurkicWorld reports.

"We mark 1 year of activity of brave women sappers in Azerbaijan. More than 1.1 million square meters of territory has been cleared of mines, which means safety for those returning to their homes," the statement of service said.

To note, the project related to women sappers is implemented by the International Eurasian Press Foundation (IEPF) with financial support from the European Union and the US Department of State, with the mediation of the United Nations Development Program, the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Consultative Group on Mines.
