BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 13. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported that a tanker was struck by an unknown projectile in the port bow while sailing approximately six nautical miles (11 km) east of Oman.
TurkicWorld reports that in an alert published on X, UKMTO said the crew is reported to be safe and there is no indication of any environmental damage following the incident.
The statement added that the vessel is continuing toward its next port of call while authorities investigate the circumstances of the strike.
UKMTO also advised other vessels in the area to proceed with caution and report any suspicious maritime activity.
