BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 13. Hamidreza Gholamzadeh, director of the Iranian think tank Diplo House, has told Al Jazeera that communication between Iranian negotiators and the country’s top leadership is taking longer due to the ongoing security situation in Tehran amid the US-Israel conflict.
TurkicWorld reports that he stated that there is currently no confirmation that either the Supreme Leader or the National Security Council has officially approved the latest draft of any agreement.
Gholamzadeh also warned that escalating Israeli military activity in southern Lebanon could undermine ongoing diplomatic efforts, suggesting that regional tensions remain a key obstacle to progress in negotiations.
He added that Iran has already indicated its possible response to further Israeli strikes, and questioned whether any potential ceasefire would cover only Beirut or also extend to other parts of Lebanon under dispute.
The analyst further argued that both Iran and the United States are unlikely to fully deprioritize responses to Israeli actions, even if diplomatic talks advance.
