BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. Oil production in Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdish region has resumed after operations were disrupted by drone attacks during the US-Israeli war on Iran, according to the region’s acting natural resources minister.
The minister told local media that production has recovered to between 220,000 and 230,000 barrels per day.
Several oil companies had suspended or reduced their activities in the region following drone attacks that affected energy infrastructure and raised security concerns.
According to the minister, companies have now returned to work, allowing production to resume.
The recovery is significant for the Kurdistan Region, where oil production represents an important component of the local economy and government revenues.
The disruptions came amid heightened regional security risks linked to the US-Israeli war on Iran.
Drone attacks on energy facilities had forced companies to reassess operations and temporarily halt production at some sites.
The minister’s latest comments indicate that production is now recovering as companies restart operations following the earlier disruptions.
