US-Iran talks end without breakthrough as focus shifts to next phase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 2. The United States and Iran have concluded a new round of indirect technical talks without achieving a breakthrough toward a lasting peace agreement.

According to the information released after the meeting, the two sides primarily discussed issues that had already been addressed under the interim agreement announced two weeks ago. No major progress was reported on the key disputes that continue to divide Washington and Tehran.

The negotiations took place following several days of reciprocal military strikes between the United States and Iran, which were triggered by escalating tensions over shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz.

Although the latest discussions did not produce significant new agreements, they were viewed as part of an ongoing diplomatic process aimed at preventing further escalation. Officials have not yet announced when the next round of indirect talks will take place.
