Iran United States Gulf security limited war exchange of fire deterrence

Iran and US don’t want an ‘unlimited war’ despite exchange of fire

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 10. The US seeks to reassert “deterrence” through its latest strikes, protect its forces, and restore freedom of navigation. Tehran, meanwhile, wants to signal that such attacks “will carry a price.”

TurkicWorld reports that “neither side appears to want an unlimited war because of the cost. It’s enormous on both sides, including Gulf energy, security, and the global market, because Iran is involving all countries in the region to increase pressure,” analysts said.

Regarding the downing of the US Apache helicopter, experts note that Iran “obviously” would not claim responsibility, as doing so would invite the United States to escalate further. Iranian actions suggest readiness for conflict if necessary, while acknowledging that the US has limited appetite for war.
