CENTCOM says 100 vessels redirected under blockade of Iranian ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 12. US Central Command (CENTCOM) says its forces have redirected 100 commercial vessels over the past 60 days as part of what it describes as a blockade of Iranian ports.

CENTCOM said no vessels had passed through its “steel wall blockade against Iran” without US permission.

The US military command said American service members remain focused on carrying out the mission.

The announcement comes amid heightened tensions surrounding maritime traffic and Iran’s ports, with the United States seeking to restrict commercial activity connected to Tehran.
