BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 10. UKMTO, the UK maritime trade organization that monitors the waterways in and around the Gulf Arab states, reports an incident off the coast of Yemen where a gunboat fired on a shipping vessel.
TurkicWorld reports that there was an exchange of fire with the security team on that ship just a few hours ago, which is currently under investigation. Analysts warn this could signal a return to dynamic conflict in the region.
Bahrain condemned the attack, and the UAE also criticized Iran’s actions. Gulf leaders are expected to exert political pressure on both Iran and the United States to move toward a negotiated truce.
