BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 6. France has pledged an additional 3 million euros ($3.36 million) in aid to Yemen following the internal displacement of nearly 200,000 people.
“The Houthi offensive in the Bab al-Mandeb strait has triggered a new humanitarian shock,” French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot told a group of humanitarian organisations in Paris.
“In response to this tragedy, I have decided to allocate an additional 3 million euros in support, bringing our total aid to the Yemeni population to more than 7 million euros in 2026,” he said.
According to Yemen’s Executive Unit for the Management of IDP Camps, the latest escalations had forcibly displaced at least 197,906 people as of September 30.
