BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 13. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has told Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that Türkiye will continue to stand by Saudi Arabia amid attacks by Yemen’s Houthi movement, the Turkish presidency said.
During a phone call on Tuesday, Erdogan strongly condemned the Houthi attacks and expressed confidence that Saudi Arabia would overcome the challenge, according to a statement from the presidency.
The conversation comes as regional security concerns grow amid continued attacks and tensions across the Middle East.
In August, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and nuclear-armed Pakistan signed a joint defence pact known as the Mecca Alliance for Defence. Under the agreement, an attack on one party is considered an attack on all parties.
The arrangement highlights defence cooperation among the three countries as they face an increasingly complex regional security environment.
