BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 5. Newly released footage suggests that a fire on board the USS Gerald R. Ford, the world’s largest aircraft carrier, caused far more extensive damage than previously acknowledged during the US-Israeli conflict with Iran.
TurkicWorld reports that the blaze, which occurred in March, devastated sleeping quarters, leaving bunks charred and twisted, ceilings gutted, and wires exposed.
Around 600 sailors were temporarily left without their sleeping areas. Crew members spent approximately 30 hours containing the fire and preventing further damage. The cause of the fire is still unknown, though Iran has claimed responsibility.
