Qatar Middle East gaza ceasefire Iran war Majed al-Ansari

Qatar says it is working to restore regional stability and prevent renewed escalation

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. Qatar has said it is continuing efforts to restore stability in the region to conditions prior to the war involving Iran and to prevent a return to escalation across the Middle East.

TurkicWorld reports that Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari said Doha remains actively engaged in diplomatic mediation aimed at reducing tensions and supporting long-term regional calm.

He added that Qatar will continue working to prevent renewed escalation and to promote stability similar to the situation that existed before the outbreak of hostilities involving Iran.

Commenting on Gaza, al-Ansari said Qatar is still involved in mediation efforts to ensure full implementation of the ceasefire agreement and to support humanitarian stability in the territory.

Despite the ceasefire agreement announced in October last year, reports indicate that Israeli strikes in Gaza have continued to result in significant casualties, with nearly 1,000 Palestinians reported killed since the deal was reached.

Qatar has positioned itself as a key mediator in regional diplomacy, particularly in efforts related to ceasefire monitoring, humanitarian access, and broader de-escalation across conflict zones in the Middle East.
