BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 25. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has said the country’s “enemies came at it with full force” during the war, claiming that Iran responded by teaching its opponents what he described as “a valuable lesson”.
“But thanks to the blessings of the martyrs, our martyred Imam and the resolve and zeal of our armed forces and beloved people, we were able to teach the enemy a valuable lesson,” Ghalibaf said in remarks quoted by Mehr news agency.
He expressed hope that prayers from the families of those killed in the conflict, together with national cohesion and unity, would continue to strengthen the country.
“We hope that, through the benevolent prayers of the martyrs’ noble families, the nation’s cohesion and unity will grow stronger day by day,” he said.
Ghalibaf concluded by saying that Iran would overcome what he described as existing dangers and “seditions” under the leadership of the supreme leader.
“By the grace of God and under the leadership of the supreme leader, the nation will overcome the existing dangers and seditions,” he said.
