BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for a missile strike targeting the air traffic control unit at Israel’s Meron Base in northern Israel.
TurkicWorld reports that in a statement, the group said the attack was directed at the facility’s command and surveillance infrastructure. The Meron Base is located on Mount Meron, approximately 8 kilometres (5 miles) from the Lebanese border, and serves as an important Israeli Air Force monitoring and command centre.
The claim comes shortly after Hezbollah announced that it had launched rockets overnight toward the northern Israeli city of Kiryat Shmona.
No immediate information was available regarding damage or casualties at the Meron Base.
The Israeli military has not yet commented on Hezbollah’s claim.
The latest development reflects the ongoing tensions and exchanges of fire along the Israel-Lebanon border, where both sides have continued military operations amid broader regional instability.
