Iranian report says proposed US-Iran framework includes military pullback and Hormuz transit plan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. Iran’s state broadcaster says it has obtained a preliminary document outlining the framework of a potential memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington intended to reduce tensions and advance a possible peace process.

TurkicWorld reports that the United States would withdraw military forces from areas near Iran, while Tehran would restore commercial transit through the Strait of Hormuz to pre-conflict levels within a 30-day period.

The report also stated that the proposed arrangement would not apply to US military vessels operating in the strategic waterway.

According to the Iranian account, shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz would be managed by Iran in coordination with Oman under the reported framework.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most important maritime corridors, serving as a major route for global energy exports and international shipping.

Iranian media also emphasized that the proposed document remains preliminary and unofficial, adding that Tehran would not proceed with any agreement without what it described as “tangible verification”.

No official confirmation regarding the reported framework has yet been issued by US authorities.
