Iran says draft US peace framework includes reopening Hormuz shipping and ending naval blockade

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. Iranian state television has reported that Tehran has obtained what it described as an initial and unofficial draft framework for a memorandum of understanding with the United States aimed at ending the current conflict.

TurkicWorld reports that the proposed framework includes measures related to maritime security, military deployments and regional de-escalation efforts.

Under the reported outline, Iran would restore commercial shipping activity through the Strait of Hormuz to levels seen before the conflict within one month.

In return, the United States would reportedly withdraw military forces from areas near Iran and lift a naval blockade as part of broader confidence-building measures.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world's most strategically important waterways, carrying a significant share of global oil and energy shipments.

No official confirmation from US authorities regarding the reported framework has been issued, and details of the proposal remain unverified.

The reported information comes amid continuing diplomatic discussions and speculation surrounding possible efforts to reduce tensions between Tehran and Washington.
